The Olympic and Paralympic Games are coming to Seine-Saint-Denis in 2024. To reinforce the links between the artistic and sporting communities, and to better track the transformations these events will bring to the 93 (Seine-Saint-Denis), GONGLE* is running the Art-Sport network. This year, the two-year-old network is opening a branch to make the voices of Art-Sport heard.
In 2020 the Olympic Games will take place in Tokyo and the autumn will see the launch of the Cultural Olympiad in France. 2020 is also the year that Olympic development works will intensify and large-scale urban transformations will begin.
The flow of ideas between artists, athletes, researchers and residents is an opportunity to refine the aesthetic, technical, educational and social dimensions of many different initiatives.
The network offers workshops, meet-ups and advice to all those who want to experiment with the art-sport connection.
OTHER TOOLS of the Art-Sport network 2024:
- Art-Sport TV 2024: a collection of hundreds of Art-Sport videos – something to inspire!
- Art-Sport News 2024: all the news about Art-Sport projects and the network
- Art-Sport Library 2024: texts by athletes, artists and researchers giving insights into the relationship between art and sports

*The group of artists and researchers GONGLE is on the cutting edge of creative work at the borders between art, sport and public participation. The Art-Sport network is supported by the département de la Seine-Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis Department) and l’Agence du service civique (Civic Service Agency). Other partnerships are in the course of being established to extend the network at a national and European level.
